A newcomer to the Charleston art scene, Teresa Jones immersed herself in the scenery and architecture of this historic city. Although she has had a lifelong dream to paint, she only began her career in 2004 after moving to Charleston. Throughout the years, while raising her 3 children, she studied various media and has chosen oil as her medium of choice. She is presently a student of local artist Joyce Hall, and has also participated in workshops with local and nationally known artists.

Teresa was born in the Upstate of South Carolina and has experienced both the rustic beauty of the region as well as the historic charm of the Lowcountry, incorporating both in her work. She now resides in Charleston, with her husband Roger.

Artist Statement

"My love of light and color, combined with nature and architecture, find there is a painting around every corner. Each one is truly unique and I never cease to learn from each painting. Looking for the unexpected gives a new perspective and freshness to my work. Presently an oil painter, my goal is to pursue the use of other media to better express myself artistically."
